Ulipristal acetate is a selective progesterone receptor modulator (SPRM) for emergency contraception within 120 hours (5 days) after an unprotected intercourse or contraceptive failure.
The epothilones are a new class of cancer drugs. Like taxanes, they prevent cancer cells from dividing by interfering with tubulin, but in early trials epithilones have better efficacy and milder adverse effects than taxanes.
Vilazodone is an antidepressant developed by Clinical Data for the treatment of major depressive disorder. The chemical compound was originally developed by Merck KGaA (Germany).By 2009 two phase III clinical trials with positive results had been completed.
Indacaterol (INN) is an ultra-long-acting beta-adrenoceptor agonist developed by by Novartis. It needs to be taken only once a day, unlike the currently available formoterol and salmeterol. It is licensed only for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) (long-term data in patients with asthma are thus far lacking). It is delivered as an aerosol formulation through a dry powder inhaler.
